Poster I helped to create for a workshop that I will be participating in. The workshop is for children so I created the pirate boat and sea with a playful, collaged, theme.

Bag/mug designs using my work from the 'America Ground' project.

Project/Work experience for a local retail business in Hastings. The brief was to design an item or packaging that they could sell or use in their shop. The design had to include references to 'America ground', a time in the 13th Century where storms blocked Hasting's harbour, forming a new piece of land which was taken over by over 1000 residents. Realising they could live tax/rent free in this no-man's land, they declared themselves independent from Hastings. They called their new land the 'twenty-fourth' US state and the America Ground was born.

I started with drawings of the America Ground area, I then created a background using inspiration from the US flag. I didn't want to be too obvious so I created a landscape using the colours and the stars of the flag to subtly hint at the American theme. The design could be used on packaging, tiles, mugs, tea towels, bags etc.

Personal Work: When my grandparents both passed away within a short period of time,  I re-created this old photograph for my mum. I have no idea why I'd decided to casually put my hand down my grandma's top at the time but her expression makes me smile whenever I look at it. I re-drew the photo using pencil and inks and collaged the background with various bits of paper and card.

Above: Final Editorial Piece for 'Doomsday Project'. The left hand side represents the danger of over-population in the form of a comet-like sperm entering an egg. The right hand side shows the destructive power that oil has over the world's economy.

Above: Screen print to show the idea of oil damaging the world's economy and environment

'100 Pages Project': Inspired by the idea of seeing pictures
in clouds, I covered 100 pages from different
books with 100 stains and then drew over the top of them.

Editorial Work

Illustration for an article on the importance of biscuits during long expeditions. Inspired by the original photographs, I reconstructed the backdrop of Scott's Polar Expedition using the images and textures of various biscuits.

Etchings based on the theme of 'maps'. I loosely held a pen over paper during the train journey I take to University. The wiggley lines in the background below show the bumps and stops the train took along the way. I then used lino print to create the silhouette of a steam train.

I drew this sketch of the view I had whilst sitting on top of a hill in Hastings.

These are all pages from my sketchbook for the 'Curiosity Project'. I have always been interested in strange and bizarre phobias (having an irrational fear of aubergines myself) therefore I decided to explore the phobias that are extremely rare such as fears of books, buttons and animal skulls.

Mug transfers: I wanted to create an overall look of commemorative Royal crockery but change the content to a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Punk era whilst also hinting at Britain's obsession with alcohol.

Tile Design: I drew straight onto the surface of the tile, etching out the white detail. It was then fired in the kiln to give it a black, contrasting gloss.
